The Belize Tourism Board has been in the news for months now with a multiplicity of bad press. Ranging from ham handed attempts to build a cruise tourism village on the Placencia Peninsula, running down indigenous tour guides in favor of Jamaican operators, using the police to harass local tour operators, attempting to promote the much disliked cruise ships that have eroded overnight tourism and expending vast amounts of cash on million dollar websites and travel junkets for press trips - the list just goes on and on.

A recent shakeup of sorts has taken place. A U.S. photographer who has had a 15 year monopoly to run the controversial million dollar websites has been fired. Read more B.T.B. Fires Natures Light webshop.
