Wendy Auxillou - A while back Lan S. Sluder of Fodor's travel guide posted a link to a coral reef he referred to as the 2nd Longest Coral Reef in world, and it was not the Belize Barrier Reef. The link referred to the New Caledonia Barrier Reef in the South Pacific.

Well, that didn't sit well with me so I did some quick internet searching and surmised that the New Caledonia reef is known as the 2nd LONGEST (http://www.flickr.co...uio/4261478725/), while the Belize Barrier Reef is referred to as the 2nd LARGEST. Longest v largest, what is the difference? Don't know ... but longest and largest are not the same. Perhaps they are both right.

On another note, yet another post was made of the largest marine reserve in the world recently being declared by Britain. This is in the Indian Ocean in the range of islands where Diego Garcia AFB is located. Well, here are some incredible pics of that range. Reminds me of Turneffe.
